Crystal View (Kasai Rinkai Park) クリスタルビュー
A glass-walled observation pavilion on the seaward edge of Kasai Rinkai Park: a free, airy box framing Tokyo Bay, perfect for silhouette shots at sunset.
About
Designed by Yoshio Taniguchi, the architect of the nearby aquarium, Crystal View is a long glass pavilion perched on the parks central axis, where the lawn drops toward the sea. Walk through it and the bay opens in front of you, with Tokyo Gate Bridge, the Kasai seaside islands and the Disney skyline off to one side. Its free and open in park hours, and photographers use its transparent frame and the long steps beside it to shoot silhouettes at sunset or the Ferris wheel lit up behind. It also serves as a rest stop with benches out of the wind.
