About

Just off Japan's first "Ginza" shopping street, Togoshi Ginza Onsen looks like a stylish modern building but runs on public-bath prices. It draws natural kuroyu, the tea-coloured, mineral-rich spring water typical of southern Tokyo, into its tubs, and the two bath floors are designed in contrasting styles, one with a rock-garden open-air bath and the other a sleek modern space, alternating between men and women. A sauna and cold plunge make it popular with Tokyo's sauna fans. It is a perfect finish to an afternoon grazing croquettes and skewers along the 1.3 km Togoshi Ginza street.
