Koiwa Flower Road 小岩フラワーロード
Koiwas main shopping street, running from the JR stations south exit through a lively mix of old shops, bargain stores and a strong Southeast Asian community flavour.
About
Koiwa sits right at the Tokyo-Chiba border on the Edogawa, and its south side is a web of shopping streets radiating from the station: Flower Road, Showa-dori and Sun Road. Flower Road is the busiest, with long-standing family shops, bargain clothing and household stores, bakeries and casual eateries, and in recent decades Thai, Filipino and other Asian grocers and restaurants that give Koiwa its own character. Its not a tourist sight but a real neighbourhood high street, best enjoyed with an appetite and no plan, before heading to the bars in the side streets.
