About
Hatoyama Hall was built in 1924 for Hatoyama Ichiro, later prime minister, and designed by his friend Okada Shinichiro. Nicknamed the 'Otowa Palace', it combines Western-style architecture with Japanese touches such as stained-glass windows featuring cranes and pigeons. The terraced rose garden overlooks the Otowa valley and blooms in spring and autumn.
