About
This strip of green runs along the Kanda River at Sekiguchi, a stretch once called the Edo River, which gives the park its name. Its riverside path is planted with cherry trees that arch over the water in spring, and stone steps climb the wooded bluff to the Higo Hosokawa Garden and the Chinzanso estate. It is a quiet, local park with a small playground and benches. Entry is free.
Highlights
- Cherry trees over the Kanda River in spring
- Shaded riverside path that continues along the river
- Short climb to Higo Hosokawa Garden and Chinzanso

Tips
- Walk the river path from Edogawabashi Station towards Omokagebashi during cherry season.
- Visit Sekiguchi Basho-an, the poet Bashos hermitage site, at the top of the slope.
- The path is narrow: avoid peak hanami Sundays if you dislike crowds.
