About
Popeye is the grandfather of Tokyo's craft beer scene. Owner Tatsuo Aoki began championing microbrews in the 1990s, and the pub now pours dozens of Japanese craft beers from an enormous bank of taps, plus beers from its own small brewery. It is a lively, slightly old-school beer hall a few minutes from the Ryogoku Kokugikan, perfect after a sumo tournament day. The food is hearty pub fare.
