About

Kani Doraku opened here in 1962 and its mechanical crab, legs and eyes moving above the entrance, became a symbol of Dotonbori. Inside, multi-floor private rooms serve crab-focused set courses: sashimi, shabu-shabu, grilled legs, tempura and crab rice. For a quick taste, the stall at the front sells grilled snow crab legs and crab chawanmushi at street-food prices. It is touristy but genuine, and the lunch courses are good value.
