Soba Tentetsu (Urayasu) そば処 天哲
A century-old soba shop on Urayasus Flower-dori that once served tempura and sushi from fish landed in the Sakaigawa, still a taste of the fishing town in Moto-machi.
About
Opened over 100 years ago when Urayasu was a fishing village, Tentetsu started out as a soba shop that also fried tempura and made sushi from whatever came off the boats in the Sakaigawa river. It still stands on Flower-dori in old Horie, a few minutes from the historic Udagawa and Otsuka houses, serving hand-cut soba, crisp tempura and rice bowls in a homey room full of locals. Its an ideal lunch on a walk through Moto-machi, and a reminder that Urayasu had a food culture long before the theme parks.
