Takeshita Street 竹下通り
Harajuku's 350m pedestrian lane of kawaii fashion, rainbow cotton candy, crêpes and idol-goods shops, loud, crowded and pure Tokyo youth culture.
About
Directly across from JR Harajuku Station's Takeshita Exit, Takeshita-dori slopes down toward Meiji-dori lined with tiny boutiques: Lolita and gothic fashion, cheap accessories, K-pop and J-idol goods, purikura halls, and dessert counters like Marion Crêpes and Totti Candy Factory. It's at its craziest on weekend afternoons. Duck into side streets to find vintage shops; and when the crowds get too much, Meiji Jingu's forest is two minutes away.
