About

There has been a bridge here since the 1620s, but it got its name in 1691 when the shogun Tsunayoshi built the Yushima Seido Confucian temple uphill and named the crossing after Changping, Confucius's home village. The current concrete arch dates from 1923 and is a Chiyoda City landscape asset. It sits between two railway viaducts, so you see Chuo and Sobu Line trains crossing the river on both sides, with the red-brick arches of the old Manseibashi Station alongside. Climb the hill to Yushima Seido and Kanda Myojin afterward.
