Shinjuku Central Park 新宿中央公園
An 8.8-hectare park at the foot of the West Shinjuku skyscrapers, with an artificial waterfall, lawns, a cafe complex and Kumano Shrine next door.
About
Shinjuku Chuo Park lies right behind the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, so its tree canopy is framed by towers on every side. The Niagara Falls water feature, open lawns, a childrens area and the SHUKNOVA building (opened 2020, with cafe and fitness facilities) make it a useful break in the business district. Juniso Kumano Shrine sits at its north-west corner, and the cherry trees and autumn leaves are surprisingly good for central Shinjuku. Entry is free.
Highlights
- Niagara Falls artificial waterfall framed by skyscrapers
- Lawn areas and a big childrens play space
- SHUKNOVA cafe and facilities
- Kumano Shrine at the edge of the park
