Kiba Park 木場公園
A 24-hectare park in Koto built on former timber yards, home to the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, barbecue grounds, a dog run and a botanical garden.
About
Kiba Park opened on land once used as log ponds for Edos timber merchants and is now one of the big green spaces of east Tokyo. A cable-stayed footbridge crosses the Sendaibori River to link the north and south halves, the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo sits at the north end, and there are lawns, tennis courts, a barbecue area, a dog run and an urban greening botanical garden. Cherry trees and big lawns make it a relaxed alternative to central hanami spots. Entry to the park is free.
