Katakura Castle Ruins Park preserves the earthworks of a medieval hill castle on a wooded ridge above the Yudono River. A pond lies at its foot, while the slopes bloom with cherries and purple katakuri dogtooth violets in spring. It is a short walk from two stations and makes a peaceful stop away from central Hachioji.
