About

At the northern prow of Tsukuda island, where the Sumida River forks around it, this long waterfront park runs beneath the Okawabata River City tower blocks. The curving, lamp-lit walkway known as 'Parisienne' was designed to evoke the Seine, and it delivers: views of the blue Eitai-bashi arch, Chuo-ohashi and, at dusk, the Skytree. There is a reconstructed Ishikawajima lighthouse from the Edo period, plenty of benches, cherry trees in spring and early-morning fishermen. Residents run and stroll here; visitors who come for monja in Tsukishima seldom walk the extra five minutes.
