About

Heiwa no Mori ("Forest of Peace") Park was planted in the 1980s on reclaimed land and has grown into a surprisingly lush woodland. Its headline attraction is the field athletics course, around 40 obstacles of rope bridges, log swings and rafts, many strung over a pond so that falling in is a real possibility; it costs a few hundred yen and draws families and even adults all weekend. Elsewhere there are cherry trees, a large lawn, a pond with water birds, a kyudo range and tennis courts. It connects south to the Omori Nori Museum and the beach park, so you can spend half a day here between flights with children who need to burn energy.
