About
Gojo Tenjinsha sits on the western slope of Ueno Park and enshrines deities of medicine along with Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. Its medicine festival draws people from the pharmaceutical trade. The approach is shared with Hanazono Inari Shrine, whose tunnel of vermilion torii leads down the slope.
