Cinema Neko シネマネコ
63-seat cinema inside a wooden registered cultural property in Ome, bringing films back to a town without a cinema for decades.
About
Cinema Neko opened in 2021 inside a historic wooden building that once served as a textile testing facility in Ome, western Tokyo. High ceilings and wooden beams surround a modern digital projector and Dolby surround sound, and there is a cafe on site. Metropolis calls it one of Tokyo's most atypical places to watch films. Foreign films are normally screened in the original language with Japanese subtitles (look for 字幕 on the schedule, not 吹替 = dubbed); Japanese films are usually shown without English subtitles.
