Just off the neon chaos of Dotonbori, in what the owner cheerfully calls the plainest building on the street, USA GI is a fourth-floor rocknroll bar devoted to Elvis Presley. Signed memorabilia covers the walls, a jukebox and pinball machine keep the 1950s alive, and the back bar holds one of Japans largest selections of Jack Daniels bottlings alongside 33 beers and Elvis-themed cocktails. It was recently picked as one of 12 Elvis-themed restaurants worldwide. Friendly, quirky and much calmer than the street below.
