About

Kamukura opened its first shop on Dotonbori in 1986 and became an Osaka staple with a single signature: oishii ("delicious") ramen, a clear soy broth sweetened by long-simmered Chinese cabbage and topped with pork belly. It is lighter than Kyushu tonkotsu or Kyoto kotteri and a gentle introduction to ramen for visitors. The Dotonbori shop is open from 10:00 until 8:00 the next morning, which makes it the classic end-of-night bowl amid the neon. It is a chain, but this is its home turf.
