Okonomiyaki Mizuno お好み焼 美津の
A family-run Dotonbori okonomiyaki house since 1945 with a Michelin Bib Gourmand and a permanent queue, famous for the yam-based 'Yamaimo-yaki' that is impossibly fluffy.
About
Mizuno has been on Dotonbori since just after the war and is still run by the same family. Staff cook everything for you on the hot plate at your table, so you get it at its best. The signature Yamaimo-yaki uses grated yam instead of flour as the binder, giving a light, almost souffle texture, loaded with pork, scallop, squid and shrimp. The classic mix okonomiyaki and Mizuno-yaki (with everything) are excellent too, and the yakisoba is a good side. Expect a line at most hours; it moves steadily because turnover is quick.
