Suisho Bridge 水晶橋
A 1929 concrete arch footbridge on the Dojima River, originally a movable weir to flush the river clean and now a lantern-lit pedestrian crossing.
About
Suisho-bashi ("crystal bridge") was built in 1929 as the Dojima River movable weir, which raised water levels to push fresh water through Osaka's canals and improve water quality. It was refurbished as a pedestrian bridge in 1982 and is now officially a bridge. Its four low concrete arches, retro lamp posts and stone balustrades make it one of the most photogenic spots on Nakanoshima, especially when the lamps are lit in the evening and reflected in the river.
