Oebashi Bridge 大江橋
Yodoyabashi's twin: a 1935 four-span arch on Midosuji over the Dojima River, also a national Important Cultural Property.
About
Oebashi was one of five bridges built in the Genroku era (around 1700) when Dojima was developed. The current steel-reinforced concrete four-span arch, 81.5 m long and 36.5 m wide, was completed in 1935 as part of the Midosuji widening and shares its design language with Yodoyabashi on the opposite side of Nakanoshima. Both bridges were designated Important Cultural Properties in 2008 and are among the "50 famous bridges of Naniwa". The view takes in the Osaka City Hall, the Bank of Japan Osaka branch and Nakanoshima's riverside.
