About

Gokurakubashi (paradise bridge) is the northern entrance to the castles main bailey, crossing the inner moat from the Aqua-Liner and Osakajo Kitazume side. From the bridge and the moat-side path just west of it, the Main Tower rises directly above sheer stone walls with nothing in front, and on still days the keep reflects in the moat. After dark the illuminated tower glows gold above black water, a favourite tripod spot for local photographers. It is also on the route of the Gozabune golden boat rides that circle the inner moat.
