About
Tsuen claims to be one of Japan's oldest tea shops: its founder served tea to people crossing Uji Bridge in the Heian period, and the current wooden building dates from 1672. Downstairs sells Uji tea; upstairs a tea room serves tea masters' brews, freshly ground matcha and matcha sweets with a view of the Uji River.
