About

Ramen Jiro is the most cultish name in Japanese ramen: brutally rich pork-and-soy broth, thick wavy noodles, a mountain of cabbage and bean sprouts and thick-cut pork, customised with the famous call ("ninniku yasai abura karame": garlic, veg, fat, stronger seasoning). Kyoto's branch sits on the Ichijoji ramen street and draws fans from all over Kansai. Even a "small" is a huge portion. Etiquette matters: eat quickly, return the bowl to the counter and wipe your space.
