Touch-screen smart lockers at JR Kyoto Station's Central Exit that double as a hotel delivery service: lock your bag in before 14:00, enter your hotel, and it arrives at around 280 Kyoto hotels by evening. Also usable as ordinary lockers from 5:00 to midnight.

About
Run by JR West with locker company SPACER and backed by Kyoto City's push for hands-free sightseeing, pikuraku PORTER turns a bank of lockers into an unstaffed baggage service. At the screen (English, Chinese and Korean supported) you choose storage or delivery, pay by IC card or credit card, and lock the bag in. For delivery, pick your hotel from the list of roughly 280 participating properties in Kyoto city and the bag is collected and delivered by the evening. In May 2026 a second set of lockers opened inside the Kintetsu Kyoto Station gates, so travellers coming from Nara can use it too. The lockers appear, with live availability, on the free Kyoto Station Smart Navi map (platinumaps.jp/d/kyoto-station-smart-navi), which also shows every coin locker bank in the station.

- Same-day delivery cut-off is 14:00
- Large door fits about a 33 x 81 x 65 cm suitcase; bigger bags need a staffed counter
- Storage charges in 24-hour blocks, not calendar days
- Delivery to Osaka hotels from Kyoto Station is suspended for now; use Crosta for Osaka transfers
