About
Kyoto-kawaramachi is the Kyoto terminus of the Hankyu line from Osaka-Umeda and sits right under the Shijo-Kawaramachi crossing, between the Kamo river and Nishiki Market. The Hankyu Tourist Center, just outside the central ticket gate underground, is the most useful information point in downtown Kyoto. Staff speak English, Chinese and Korean, sell Hankyu and Kansai passes, rent pocket Wi-Fi, store luggage for a flat fee and, if you drop your bags by 9:30, deliver them to your hotel the same day. Gion, Pontocho and Nishiki are all within ten minutes on foot.
