About
Takashimaya was founded in Kyoto in 1831, and its Kyoto store at the city's busiest crossing is the classic department store for kimono, crafts and luxury. The basement food hall is excellent for Kyoto sweets, pickles and bento. In 2023 the complex was renamed Kyoto Takashimaya S.C. with the new T8 specialty zone, which includes Nintendo KYOTO, lifestyle stores and cafes. It is directly connected to Kyoto-kawaramachi Station.
