Aso Seaside Park lines the western shore of Aso Bay, the calm lagoon enclosed by Amanohashidate. Its lawns and promenade face the full length of the pine-covered sandbar from the side, a less common angle than the famous hilltop views. It has a large free car park and is popular for picnics and sunset walks. The park is best reached by car or bicycle.
