About

Businessman Shotaro Kaga built this English-style villa on Mt. Tenno, between Kyoto and Osaka. It now houses the Asahi beer group's collection of Mingei folk crafts by Kawai Kanjiro, Hamada Shoji and Bernard Leach. Tadao Ando's underground 'Jewel Box' annex shows Monet's Water Lilies. The gardens are known for autumn colours, and the terrace cafe overlooks the valley.
