About
Miki Castle held out for nearly two years against Toyotomi Hideyoshi in the Miki campaign (1578-80) before lord Bessho Nagaharu surrendered. The honmaru site is a park with a statue of Nagaharu and views over Miki; the Miki City History Museum next door covers the siege. The castle and siege forts are a national historic site.
