About

The Akashi Municipal Planetarium stands on Japan's standard time meridian (135 E). Its clock tower holds an observation room on the 13th and 14th floors, renovated as the 'Akashi Strait Panoramic Observatory', looking over the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Awaji Island and the city. Admission covers the planetarium, exhibits and observation room. The museum reopened in summer 2026 after a full renovation.
