About

Akashi Park spreads around the stone walls of Akashi Castle, one of Japan's 100 Famous Castles, completed in the early 17th century. Its two surviving turrets, Tatsumi and Hitsujisaru, are Important Cultural Properties, and Hitsujisaru is opened on autumn weekends. Gonoike Pond has rowboats and the lawns fill with picnickers in cherry season.
