Nagomi no Yoneya Sohonten & Narita Yokan Museum なごみの米屋 總本店・成田羊羹資料館
The flagship of Narita's famous chestnut-yokan maker, founded on Omotesando in 1899, with a free little museum of old yokan-making tools and posters behind the shop.
About
Yoneya made its name with kuri yokan, dense sweet bean jelly studded with chestnuts, sold to pilgrims as a long-keeping souvenir, and the company is still the biggest name in Narita sweets. The main store on Omotesando sells the full range of yokan, monaka, dorayaki and seasonal wagashi, with tasting samples, while the Narita Yokan Museum on the same site displays wooden moulds, copper pans, packaging and advertising from more than a century of production. It is a quick, free cultural stop and the easiest place to buy gifts that survive a long flight.
Highlights
- Chestnut yokan, the classic Narita souvenir

Tips
- Yokan keeps for weeks without refrigeration and packs flat in a suitcase
