About

'Chikki' is the old Japanese railway word for checked baggage, and Yufuin's version is a lifesaver: drop your suitcase at the counter in the Yufu City Tourist Information Center beside Yufuin Station and it's delivered to your inn (member inns of the Yufuin hot spring tourism association, about 100 properties). On check-out day the inn can send it back here for you to collect before your train. The counter also stores bags for the day, and there are coin lockers. Given Yufuin's narrow lanes and few taxis, it makes arrival much easier.
