About

Architect Arata Isozaki designed Yufuin Station's waiting room as a tall, chapel-like black wooden hall with high windows, and it hosts small art exhibitions. Platform 1 has a hot spring foot bath (small fee) where you can soak while waiting for the train. The Yufuin-no-Mori and Yufu limited expresses connect to Hakata, and local trains run to Oita; buses to Beppu leave from the station-front bus centre. The YUFUINFO tourist centre and luggage service are next door.

Tips

• Buses to Beppu (about 50 min) leave from the bus centre opposite
