About
Shibaseki sits in a wooded ravine in the Noda district near Chinoike and Tatsumaki hells, and its history goes back to Heian-period emperors who are said to have bathed here. Today it is a tidy municipal bathhouse with a large indoor bath, a rock outdoor bath surrounded by trees, a mushi-yu steam room, a waterfall shower and a cold pool, all for the price of a coffee. Family baths are available by the hour. Because it is off the main Kannawa strip, it stays calm even on weekends and is the perfect soak after seeing the two hells down the road.
