About

Beppu Park dates back to the early 20th century and is known for its pine forest, with red and black pines around a century old. Lawns, ponds, a bamboo grove and a plum grove spread around it, and roughly 100 Somei-yoshino cherries bloom around late March. Events and outdoor markets are held on the lawns. Entry is free and the grounds are open all day, which makes it an easy walk between onsen visits.
