About

Global Tower, designed by Arata Isozaki for the B-Con Plaza convention centre, rises over the west side of central Beppu. From its observation deck you can look across the whole city: steam plumes from the onsen districts, the waterfront and Beppu Bay, with Mount Tsurumi behind. The tower itself, with its sweeping steel frame, is a strong graphic subject from the ground too.
