Built on the site of a Toshiba factory and designed by Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill around a circular open-air plaza, LAZONA Kawasaki Plaza is one of the busiest malls in the Tokyo area. Its roughly 300 shops span fashion (Uniqlo, GU, Zara), Bic Camera electronics, a big supermarket, lifestyle stores, a 109 Cinemas multiplex, a sprawling food court and a restaurant floor. The plaza stage hosts free events and concerts at weekends, and the rooftop lawn is a pleasant spot to sit. Kawasaki is 15-20 minutes from Haneda by Keikyu, so it is useful for last-minute shopping, electronics or a cheap meal on a transit day.
