La Cittadella is Kawasaki's quirky entertainment district: a cluster of buildings designed to evoke an Italian walled town, with terracotta and pastel facades, arched passages, a piazza and fountains, a few minutes from Kawasaki Station. It houses Cinecitta, a multiplex known for its premium sound screens, a string of restaurants and bars, and CLUB CITTA', a 1,300-capacity concert hall that has hosted rock, metal, punk and J-pop acts since 1988 and is a beloved stop on international band tours. During KAWASAKI FESTIVAL in autumn and at Halloween, when Kawasaki hosts one of Japan's biggest costume parades, the area becomes a stage. Even without a show, the piazza at night is fun to wander.
