About
The Old Tokaido crossed the Hakone mountains between Odawara and Mishima. Sections paved with stones in the 1680s survive between Hatajuku and Moto-Hakone, leading past the Amazake-chaya teahouse, which has served sweet rice drink for centuries, and an avenue of old cedars to Lake Ashi. It is a national Historic Site.
