Uogashi Nihon-ichi Shibuya Dogenzaka 魚がし日本一 渋谷道玄坂店
Standing sushi bar where you order nigiri piece by piece from the chef. Fast, cheap, fresh, and how Tokyo office workers grab sushi.
About
Uogashi Nihon-ichi is a tachigui (standing) sushi chain run by a Tsukiji/Toyosu wholesale company, and the Dogenzaka branch is one of its busiest. You stand at the counter, order one or two pieces at a time, and the chef places them directly in front of you on the counter. Prices are per piece and cheap for the quality, with tuna, salmon, seasonal shiromi and shellfish. Ten to fifteen minutes is a typical visit, ideal before a night out in Shibuya.
