Run by Japan's Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute, this hillside garden is partly open to the public. Its Sakura Preservation Forest keeps genetic stock of cherries from around Japan, so different varieties bloom from February to May, and forest trails and a small exhibition hall cover the rest of the grounds.
