Takaosanguchi Tourist Information Center 高尾山口観光案内所
Hachioji's information office in the Kengo Kuma-designed Keio Takaosanguchi Station building: trail conditions, maps and timetables before you climb Mt. Takao. Opens at 8:00.
About
Mt. Takao is Tokyo's favourite mountain, and this office inside the timber-clad Keio Takaosanguchi Station building is the place to check conditions before you start. Staff (Japanese and English) give out trail maps for the eight main routes, cable car and chairlift information, and tips on Yakuo-in temple, seasonal flowers and autumn leaves, plus wider Hachioji sightseeing. It sells local souvenirs. It opens at 8:00 (closing an hour earlier, at 16:00, from December to March) and closes only for about one maintenance day a year.
