Skytree from Genmori-bashi 源森橋からのスカイツリー

A small bridge over the Kitajukken River where Skytree towers over the water and Tobu trains rumble across the neighbouring railway bridge, the go-to spot for train-plus-Skytree shots.

About

Genmori-bashi crosses the Kitajukken River just east of the Sumida, about 800 m from Skytree. Looking east from the bridge you get the canal, the riverside promenade of Tokyo Mizumachi under the railway viaduct, and Skytree filling the top of the frame. Just beside it, the Tobu Skytree Line crosses the river on its own bridge, so with patience you can catch a Spacia X or a local train sliding across in front of the tower. On still evenings the canal gives reflections, and at night the tower's Iki (blue) or Miyabi (purple) lighting colours the water. It is a local favourite and much less crowded than the Skytree base.
