About

Zoetrope is a pilgrimage site for Japanese whisky fans. The narrow third-floor room has shelves bulging with over 300 Japanese bottlings, from current releases to closed-distillery rarities like Karuizawa and Hanyu, and the owner happily guides you through tasting flights. Silent films and old animation play on a screen while you drink, which suits the name. Prices are reasonable for the rarity, and pours are available in half measures for exploration.
