About
Opened in 1997, the New National Theatre has a 1,800-seat opera house, a middle-sized playhouse and a studio. Its own opera and ballet companies stage full seasons, often with international singers and conductors. Operas are usually shown with Japanese and English surtitles, and tickets can be bought on the English website.
