Hidden in the love-hotel lanes of Dogenzaka, Lion is a meikyoku kissa: a café devoted to listening to classical music. The interior is a dim, three-storey hall of dark wood with seats all facing a towering speaker cabinet. Talking is not allowed, nor is photography. Coffee is simple; the experience is total immersion. Concerts on vinyl are held around 15:00 and 19:00, and you can request pieces on a slip.
