About
Opened in 2019 in the Japan Sport Olympic Square building facing the National Stadium, the museum explains the Olympic Movement and Japan's Olympic history, from the 1912 Stockholm Games, when Japan first competed, through Tokyo 1964, Sapporo 1972, Nagano 1998 and the pandemic-delayed Tokyo 2020. The second-floor galleries display Olympic torches, medals, uniforms and memorabilia, while the interactive zone lets you test your reaction time and jumping power and compare yourself to Olympians. The giant Olympic Rings monument outside, moved here after Tokyo 2020, is a popular photo spot, and the ground floor has free exhibitions.
